Create Train Utilities Renaming

Create Train Utilities is becoming Create Train Doors
There hasn't been a major update to Create Train Utilities in about a year. 3.0.1 through 3.0.3 kept things patched and running, but nothing new arrived — and now that changes, under a new name.
Other projects and other mods took priority for a while. That's over. Here's what's changing, what has already shipped, and what still needs your attention before the next major version.
Why rename the mod?
Doors are the mod's main feature. They're also the thing people install it for, the thing they show off in screenshots, and the thing that comes up in every support question.
"Create Train Utilities" said nothing about that. "Utilities" is a bucket name — it describes a folder, not a mod. It gave no reason to click and no way to guess what was inside.
Create Train Doors says what the mod does. That's the whole argument.
The new name takes effect with version 4.
What's being removed
Two block families no longer fit the name or the scope, and they're being cut in v4:
- All platform blocks
- All noise barrier walls
They aren't being deleted from existence, though.
Where those blocks went: Create TrackSta
Create TrackSta — short for Track & Station — is a new mod built around exactly this material: tracks, platforms, and station infrastructure. The removed blocks live there now, in a mod whose theme actually matches them.
It's already available on Modrinth and CurseForge. If you use platform blocks or noise barrier walls, install it.
Splitting them out isn't a downgrade. In a mod called Create Train Doors, platform blocks would always be the odd feature nobody could explain. In a mod about tracks and stations, they're the point.
What v3.1.0 changed
v3.1.0 is the warning shot before v4. Nothing disappears from your world, but the affected blocks are being wound down:
- Recipes and loot tables for the outgoing blocks were removed
- Their items were taken out of the creative tab
- In-game warnings were added so nobody is caught off guard
- Steam 'n' Rails door mode compatibility was added
- Platform blocks can no longer be modified in adventure mode
- Performance improvements via property pre-caching
If you already have these blocks placed in a world, they still work in 3.1.0. You just can't craft or obtain new ones.
Get 3.1.0 on Modrinth or CurseForge.
What you need to do before v4
This is the important part.
Use the time between 3.1.0 and 4.0.0 to replace your platform blocks and noise barrier walls with the Create TrackSta versions.
When v4.0.0 lands, those blocks are gone from Create Train Doors. Anything still placed in your world will not survive the update. Since TrackSta is already out, there's no reason to wait — you can migrate today and be finished long before v4 arrives.
Do the swap first. Update second.
Roadmap
Two pieces of the plan are already done — v3.1.0 is out, and Create TrackSta is available on both Modrinth and CurseForge. What's still ahead is v4.0.0 itself. It's targeted for late this year, and realistically it may slip into January — I'd rather say that now than quietly miss a date later.
Create Train Utilities v3.1.0 — released

In short
Create Train Utilities is becoming Create Train Doors. The blocks that didn't fit have moved to Create TrackSta, which is out now. v3.1.0 is out and gives you a migration window. Use it.
More on the new doors and the sound system closer to the v4 release.
Questions, bug reports, or trouble migrating? The Adeptstack Discord is the place. And if you're wondering why everything now says Adeptstack instead of Adeptstack Modding, that's explained here.
If you'd like to support the work, there's Ko-fi. Entirely optional — the mods stay free either way.
